Quogue Gallery is pleased to present “Biophilia.” Robert Remer’s BIOPHILIC designs incorporate organic shapes into bespoke furniture, planters and sculpture capturing the shifting, yet timeless relationship between humans as nature. His process is a sort of dance with the past and the future, the unfolding of his work mirrors the stages of art history creating works that reveal choreographies between Nature and Civilization. Robert has transported the Quogue Gallery into an oasis of timeless moments of stillness and receptivity, inviting you to participate in the sensory experience of being and nature.

Opiary is a Brooklyn-based biophilic design and production studio founded by Robert Remer in 2010. It integrates nature in each of its designs, incorporating live greenery and organic shapes into bespoke furniture, planters and sculpture. Through the ethos of biophilia, Opiary reflects the shifting, yet timeless relationship between humans and nature. Each piece is modeled by Remer, and handcrafted in the Brooklyn studio by a team of artists and craftspeople.

Remer graduated from Yale University in 1992 with a B.A. in Architecture. At Yale, he studied sculpture under Alice Aycock. He has had a studio practice since 1994. Opiary has shown and won awards in many top design shows including ICFF, Maison et Objet, Art Hamptons, Architectural Digest show, and Palm Springs Design Week.
